I will have to make a proper entry tomorrow, but I wanted to let everyone know that I arrived safely last night and I didn’t get lost at either airports (which is an acheivement for me because I have a bad sense of direction).

However, unfortunately I am fighting a stomach virus. Last night I got sick after eating dinner and today I threw up four times before going to the doctor. Despite only having eaten very little soba (cold buckwheat noodles) for lunch. I don’t have an appetite and when I do try to eat my stomach really protests. But good thing is we don’t think I have the flu.

I’m very grateful to one of the CIEE workers, Rie-san, who was the one who took me to the Doctor and translated (even though the doctor knew a little english and was very kind to use it as much as he could). She also brought me some yogurt and health drinks to help digestion. The Doctor says that the virus has been going around in Tokyo but I may have also contracted it from someone on the plane. He gave me a shot in the arm (which was more like an IV) and also gave me some medicine to take to help with the nausea. He told me the virus should last three days. We move in with our host families on Friday so I really hope that is the case otherwise I cannot move in with them until I am better. But I have felt much better since I had the shot, and I did just eat some yogurt. Rie-san brought me to the hotel after the visit to the doctor and I slept for a few hours but still feel very tired. I’m trying to stay awake though until proper bedtime because I don’t want to wake up at 2am like last night haha.

I will make a more detailed post tomorrow hopefully, but right now I’m just trying to focus on my health and getting better.

Here is hoping my luck is better in the future!
